About Dan Patmore

So hi, yes, I’m Dan Patmore, thanks for visiting my site, it’s great to have you here.

This is the 3rd of 4th version of the site in the 5 years or so I’ve had it. Over the years I’ve used it to promote my music (when I still used to write and perform), my paintings, ramblings, flash fiction and various other projects and nonsense I’ve been involved with or felt was interesting enough to share.

As a boy with an active imagination and someone who spends too much time in their head, I’ve set up all sorts of dirty little blog sites and pages as various ideas have sprung to mind. All small these things have always had to be set up separately as they’ve never fit within the frame work of anything I had existing at the time. It’s a bit hard to do much online if you are spreading yourself across too many sites, with too much updating to be done etc…. and this is why this version is here.

I’ve revisited the site now (Sep-2011) with the aim of pulling together as many of my random net focussed whims as possible. I’d ideally like a site where I can put everything, and so can really focus my sporadic efforts.  However, why not random? Network site will continue to sit there servicing a few random sparks and ideas (and hopefully without too many deadlinks), and Parenting Guest Blog perhaps my most successful project, will also carry on doing its thing.

So who I am? Well, I live in UK, I’m in my late 20′s married, with 2 daughters and have always been the sort of guy to have alot of ideas and creative persuasions. That’s not to say I consider myself massively talented, I just enjoy things like writing, painting  and music.

I used to perform as a solo acoustic performer and various guises, Dan Patmore, Just Dan and ibyself. My music ranged from silly and chaotic to thoroughly miserable as time progressed. When I was in the slightly silly and chaotic phase (chaotic because I was very good at forgetting my own songs), I had the privilege of supporting acts like the Supernaturals, Joseph Arthur, The 45′s whose front man formed Aqualung and Kid Galahad.

These days I just play my Ukulele in the kitchen (checkout my cover of Lippy kids by Elbow) and occasionally contribute some lyrics to my brother music project Rise Bailey Rise.

Throughout 2007-2008 I was fortunate enough to sell a few paintings, for wildly varying fees but sadly not enough to return on! I have also won local writing competitions, sold t-shirts and generally pottered around in the world of the web and creativity like a grandad in a shed!

Being a father is the greatest honour I have had, hence the ideas for dad section of the website. The great thing about being a father is getting to play. I like playing. Alot.
